Candidemia is an emerging infection in neonatology, due to multiple risk factors for fungal
infections in neonates, eg, central venous catheter (CVC) insertion, total parenteral nutrition
(TPN), corticosteroid and antibiotic therapy, very low birth weight (VLBW) and arteriovenous
