PTEN hamartoma tumor syndrome (PHTS) presents in a spectrum that encompasses the
eponymous disorders Cowden and Bannayan-Riley-Ruvalcaba. Herein, we delineate the
distinctive histopathology of a predominantly intramuscular lesion in PHTS, often called
“arteriovenous malformation,” because of certain imaging and histopathologic features.
