Physiologic concentrations of insulin enhance the ability of cytotoxic lymphocytes to injure
target cells. The effect of insulin closely resembles the action of cholinomimetics and
guanosine 3′, 5′-monophosphate upon this system. Since both insulin and
cholinomimetics elevate intracellular concentrations of guanosine 3′, 5′-monophosphate,
a common mode of action is suggested.
