The role of sequential infection as a risk factor, for the development of Hemorrhagic Dengue
is discused considering the data obtained during the epidemic 9f DHF/DSS that occure~-in
Cuba in 1981. The re~ ults of the stu~ y of 3 groups of patients, with DHF/DSS, are
presented. The percentage of secondary infection in these was between 95 and 98, 5%. It is
concluded that secondary infection is a necessary. prequisite but other factors are necessary
for the development of the disease.
