OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to explore the mechanism by which increased
erythropoiesis occurs in polycythemia vera (PV). METHODS: CD34+ and erythroid colony-
forming cells (ECFC) were purified from normal or PV peripheral blood and then incubated
