We isolated osteoblastic cell lines from wild-type (CasR+/+) and receptor null (CasR−/−)
mice to investigate whetherCasR is present in osteoblasts and accounts for their responses
to extracellular cations. Osteoblasts from bothCasR+/+ and CasR−/− mice displayed an
